Welcome to The Barn Owl Inn

Somewhere between picturesque Lymm and Altrincham amidst acres of sprawling Cheshire countryside, lies the Barn Owl Inn which nestles alongside the tranquil waters of the Bridgewater Canal. Indeed, the establishment draws commendations in notable publications as “Hidden places in Cheshire” and this is understandable given the idyllic location and wonderful views one can take in on a hazy summer afternoon.

For nearly ten years, Carl Warburton has nurtured the Barn Owl and watched it grow into a charming pub with a reputation for fantastic ales from both local and national breweries and also for the “gastro-pub-grub” that draws people from miles around; praised in “The good food guide” and twice voted Lymm Pub of the Year (no easy feat) it is easy to see why!

Carl personally cares for all five of his Cask Ales with three changing regularly and this ensures for a memorable pint. Not content with being awarded CAMRA 2002 pub of the year runner-up, The Barn Owl was awarded CAMRA Pub of the Year in 2004(!) and you will see why should you be tempted by the sumptuous range on offer.

The perfect pint isn’t complete without the perfect meal and The Barn Owl doesn’t disappoint here either. Favourites amongst the regulars are “ Cock & Bull”, “Oven-baked Sea Bass” and “Wexford Steak” and if that doesn’t stir your senses then why not take in the Carvery every Sunday; Honey Roast Ham, Turkey and Roast Beef are tantalisingly carved before your eyes making for a deliciously unique Sunday lunch!

Carl’s enthusiasm, dedication and pride in his pub are mirrored by his affable staff who greet you with the warmest of welcomes and look after you with a friendly and diligent service from the minute you arrive. The family-run feel of the pub is self evident and promises to guarantee you a quality of service and care; Carl’s daughter Kirsten ably runs the bar and restaurant alongside Judith, and her partner Steven can be found in the kitchen cooking up a treat. They are passionate about their pub and impart this to the customers with an unparallel attention to detail.

Whether you while away a lazy afternoon with a fine ale watching the narrow boats drift by, tuck into a tasty lunch beside rolling Cheshire countryside or dance away to Saturday night’s live entertainment, a visit to The Barn Owl is well worth it!
